Why are sustainable boxes becoming more important?
Sustainability has been a hot topic for years. Customers are looking for greener options, and businesses also want to contribute to lowering CO₂ emissions. On top of that, more and more regulations are being introduced that require sustainable choices.
What kind of sustainable boxes can you find at RENUBOX?
Cardboard is a sustainable material, but its production still impacts nature. That’s why reuse is the most sustainable option, next to simply not producing at all. By reusing boxes, they don’t end up as waste but can be used again.
What about the quality of sustainable boxes?
A question we often get. The answer: the quality is just fine. All boxes are manually inspected and only added to our assortment after approval. Re-used boxes may have some tape residue or a sticker, but this doesn’t affect the quality.
Is there a constant supply of sustainable boxes?
For some customers, a steady supply of a specific type of box is essential. Our Surplus boxes are usually available only while stocks last. However, we do try to keep popular sizes in stock, and if not, a similar box is often available.
Re-used boxes come back into stock more frequently. Thanks to our partnerships, we receive used boxes regularly. Want to be sure about the availability of the Re-used box you’re interested in? Contact our sales team.
Do you need the exact same box in the exact same size at all times? Then a new box might be the solution. New boxes can always be supplied again.
When is a new box still the most sustainable option?
In some cases, a new box can actually be the most sustainable option. Here we look not at production, but at usage. A custom-made box can be sustainable because:
- Less air is shipped, so more parcels fit into a (delivery) truck
- Less void fill material is needed
- Products are better protected, reducing returns
